Guide to i-mode Charges

To use i-mode, i-mode monthly charges (monthly basic charges) and packet communications charges according to communications volume used will apply.

If you view sites, which require a fee such as news and entertainment contents pages, then these will be charged additionally as "i-mode information charges".

• 1 This is the charge for subscribers not using Packet Packs. Communications charges for Packet Pack users differ depending on the Packet Pack subscribed to. Furthermore, charges for packet communications in excess of a set total number of packets used each month will apply according to the Packet Pack you have subscribed to.
• 2 Packet communications charges when the total number of packets used each month exceeds 100,000 packets will be ¥0.21 per packet.

If you have subscriptions with multiple DOCOMO providers (ISPs)3 such as i-mode and mopera U for one FOMA subscription line, you will be discounted ¥157.5 off each ISP's monthly charges.

To use i-mode you must sign up and pay the "i-mode monthly charge" of ¥315.

Application is required to use i-mode and the i-mode basic charge (Packet Lite Plan) is ¥420 per month.

This i-mode basic charge consists of the basic monthly charge (¥105) and the usage charge (¥315).

i-mode communications uses packet communications where charges are calculated based on the volume of data sent and received. That thus enables you to spend plenty of time browsing for the information you want without worrying about communications time or distance from the access point.

System of Packet Charges

i-mode information charges are charges collected by DOCOMO on behalf of content providers for use of i-mode fee-based information sites that offer content such as news and entertainment services. Those i-mode information charges comprise the following two charges:

• The limit on i-mode information charges is ¥100,000 (except for users of billing plans with a limit function [Type Limit, Type Limit Value, Family Wide Limit, Family Wide Limit Value, and Limit Plus]).
• If one month's i-mode information charges exceed ¥100,000, fee-based My Menu registration and the addition of individual charges is generally restricted within three hours for the applicable subscription.
• The limit will not apply to i-mode information charges during the free period for sites offered free of charge in the month of registration, or those with a free trial period. The limit will apply from the point that i-mode information charges actually apply, such as after the free trial period ends.
• Please be aware that users are respobsible for payment of all usage charges, including amounts exceeding the usage limit.
• If charges exceed the limit and the registration of additional i-mode information charges is restricted, as a rule, registration will become available from 10 a.m. on the first of the following month.
