Communications that are not covered by the flat-rate charge

The following communications are not applicable to the flat-rate monthly charge.

  • Communications using i-mode Full Browser
  • Packet communications made by connecting to a PC, PDA, or other device
  • Packet communications made during international roaming (including FOMA i-mode communications). However, Global Pake-hodai communications charges will apply during international roaming when Pake-hodai simple subscribers make packet communications with a Global Pake-hodai compatible communications carrier.
  • Short Message Service communications
  • Voice communications
  • Digital communications (Videophone, 64K data communications) etc.
  • A flat-rate monthly charge for Pake-hodai (¥4,095) will be incurred even if you do not use i-mode.
  • Pake-hodai double and Pake-hodai full are not automatically applied even when using i-mode Full Browser.
  • Communications allowances do not apply to the Pake-hodai flat-rate monthly charge.
  • When you apply for Pake-hodai by selecting the next month for the applicable time, you can also use Packet Pack only for the month of application. (You need to apply for Packet Pack.)
  • If you cancel Pake-hodai (or cancel your line subscription) during the month, the full flat-rate charge for that month will apply. If you cancel your Pake-hodai subscription on a day other than the last day of the month and change to a Packet Pack, communications made during the remainder of the month will not be covered by Pake-hodai. You can, however, designate the last day of the month as the date for Pake-hodai cancellation. In that case, communications up to the end of the month will be covered by Pake-hodai.
  • If you change to billing plans (FOMA Data Communications Billing Plan or FOMA Ubiquitous Plan) for which Pake-hodai does not apply, i-mode and Pake-hodai will be cancelled. In such cases, the full flat-rate charge for the month will be collected.
  • Pake-hodai can be applied for along with Long-Term Subscriber Discount, Fami-wari MAX50, Hitoridemo Discount 50, New Ichinen Discount, Ichinen Discount, Family Discount, e-billing, Business Discount, Office Discount, Office-wari MAX50, Hearty Discount, Two-month CarryOver, and other basic monthly charge and voice and communications charge discounts. However, the discounts do not apply to the Pake-hodai flat-rate monthly charge.
  • Pake-hodai i-mode communications are not included in the notified usage charge amount in Usage Charges Confirmation (for use in the current month) and notified usage charge amount in excess of the amount you set in Charge Notice Service.
  • If you are signed up for Pake-hodai along with any of Type Limit, Type Limit Value, Family Wide Limit, or Family Wide Limit Value, the Pake-hodai flat-rate monthly charge will not be included in the preset limit. Therefore, you can use i-mode communications even after the preset limit has been exceeded. (Subscriptions to i-mode fee-based sites can also be cancelled. However, information charges may be incurred at the time of cancellation if canceling during the initial month for sites for which the initial month is provided free of charge.)
  • If you are subscribed to Type Limit, Type Limit Value, Family Wide Limit, or Family Wide Limit Value and apply for Pake-hodai effective for the month of application when the preset limit is exceeded, you will only be able use i-mode communications after applying.
  • Usage charges will be calculated applying the billing plan and discount in effect at the end of communications. (If you applied to discontinue Pake-hodai on the last day of the current month, communications that continue from the current month to the next month will not be covered by Pake-hodai.)
  • If both Pake-hodai and Pake-hodai full are used in the same month because of circumstances such as a change in service from Pake-hodai to Pake-hodai full, the user is billed the Pake-hodai full flat-rate charge for the month in which the change is made. However, Pake-hodai full will not take effect during the period in which Pake-hodai is effective. Furthermore, if both Pake-hodai and Biz-hodai are used in the same month because of circumstances such as a change in service between Pake-hodai and Biz-hodai, the user is billed the Pake-hodai as well as Biz-hodai flat-rate charges. In such cases, Pake-hodai will not take effect during the period in which Biz-hodai is effective, and Biz-hodai will not take effect during the period in which Pake-hodai is effective.
  • Please note that when using a handset not compatible with i-mode, the flat-rate monthly charge will still apply even if you do not use communications covered by Pake-hodai.
  • The conditions for Pake-hodai use are the same for ISP Content Access only as with i-mode communications.
  • Depending on network traffic conditions, communications may become slow or connecting may become difficult. Furthermore, communications may become slower for especially heavy users (amount of packet communications during the last three days including the current day is 3 million packets or more) compared to other users. Please check Check and pay charges (Check and pay charges) of My docomo (PC version/i-mode version) for a rough estimatenotice3 of the amount of packet communications you have used over the last three days. Communications may be interrupted if a large amount of data is transmitted within a set amount of time or during a single connection, if the connection time is long, or if you connect continuously within a set amount of time.
  • The number of i-mode mail messages (including i-shot and i-motion mail with FOMA) that can be sent in one day is fewer than 1,000 per handset. In addition, you may not be able to send further messages depending on the settings of the receiver (Reject Mass i-mode Mail Senders) if you have sent 500 or more messages per handset in the same day with FOMA.

notice3 Please note that this only indicates a rough estimate of the amount of communications, so it may differ from the amount of data actually used to calculate your bill because, for example, items such as the amount of usage overseas are not included. Also, the amount of communications is displayed rounded up to the nearest 1,000 packets.

noticeAmounts listed include consumption tax. Please note that for the actual bill the amount of the tax is calculated from the total of individual items excluding tax so the billing amount may differ from the total of individual items including tax.
