"Pre-Call" is a prepaid mobile phone service which allows you to only use the amount that you pay in advance. New applications for Pre-Call are no longer accepted as of March 31, 2005. |
Any existing customers of "Pre-Call" who have not registered the contractor’s name will have their service suspended. Customers wishing to continue using "Pre-Call" should register the contractor’s name. Furthermore, please be aware that after the unit validity period and phones reservation period have expired, their contract will be cancelled.

There is a validity period to units registered. When registering one MOBILER’S CHECK the following validity periods exist; ¥5,000: 50 days, ¥3,000: 30 days, ¥1,000: 10 days and ¥500: 5days.
When registering units, the unit validity period is extended from the day after the expiration date of the existing units, however, the maximum unit validity period is 90 days.
After the unit validity period any remaining units will become invalid.
The maximum amount you are able to register is 5,000 units (¥50,000)
If there arises a period when you cannot use your mobile phone due to malfunction etc., such time lost to your unit validity period shall not be compensated for.

With "Pre-Call" by just connecting your DOCOMO mobile phone to PC etc., you can enjoy a network service (mopera) which allows you easy access to mobile information and Internet, Public Mode which places emphasis on mobile phone manners and also an English announcement service when you change the automatic voice announcements to English.

Notes on the use of Pre-Call
- "Voice Mail Service", "Call Waiting Service", "Short Mail Service"*,and discount services are not available.
- Toll-free services can only be used when you have units remaining.
- Other services such as 116 (NTT inquiries), Dial Q2, message (Dengon) Dial, and Credit Call Service are not available. (However, Credit Call Service calls may be made from public or landline phones to "Pre-Call" phones.)
- Even if phone numbers claim to have "Calls Received Free" or "No Call Charge", dialing charges may be applicable.
Short Mails can only be sent, but not received. They are charged at the same rate as regular phone calls (rates start at ¥10 per mail).

How to use
If you are using "Pre-Call" for the first time, or if your remaining units are running low or your unit validity is about to expire, you will have to buy a "DOCOMO TELECA MOBILER’S CHECK" and register the amount.
1. Purchase of the MOBILER’S CHECK (Prepaid Card)
Purchase a "MOBILER’S CHECK" card from a docomo Shop or participating dealer.
2. Registration of the "Pre-Call" amount
Scratch off the silver area on the back of the card. From the "Pre-call" phone that you want to register the amount, dial [1400] (free of charge), follow the announcements and input the 14 digit "card number" that is written in the area that you scratched off, followed by a #.
Please make sure to listen to the end message before ending the call.
3. The use of "Pre-Call"
You can start making calls by "Pre-Call" immediately after registration.
4. Additional registration of "Pre-Call"
Once you run low on units or the unit validity period expires you will need to purchase a new card and register the additional prepayment. (Registration is identical to that shown above in nos. 2.)
If you enter a wrong card number, additional registration may be unsuccessful.

Consumption tax is included in dialing charges
- MOBILER’S CHECK is tax-free.
- One "Pre-Call" unit is ¥10
- When new units are added to an already in-use card, the validity period is extended for a further period of up to 90 days that starts the day following the original expiration date.
- Even if you run out of units, you will still be able to receive calls until the original unit validity period expires.
- Please be aware that once the unit validity period expires then all the units left at this time will be lost.
If there arises a period when you cannot use your mobile phone due to malfunction etc., such time lost to your unit validity period shall not be compensated for.
- If your unit count reaches 0, or if your unit validity period expires, the only thing you can do is buy new units. In order to keep your phone number, you will have to buy new units within 90 days of your last unit expiration date (Phone Number Reservation Period). Please be aware that after the period of 90 days (Phone Number Reservation Period) has passed, "Pre-Call" contracts are cancelled.
Acceptance of new "Pre-Call" applications was discounted from March 31, 2005.
- You can keep the same phone number when you switch to mova or FOMA. No handling fees are incurred when switching. However, all units registered with Pre-Call will become invalid. Please note that prepaid amounts for remaining units will not be refunded or applied to the new service.
- The following services are available for "Pre-Call": mopera, Public Mode, English Announcement, Caller ID Display Request and WORLD CALL.
- All services (that is, "Voice Mail Service", "Call Waiting Service", "Short Mail Service
1 " etc.) and Discount services are not supported by "Pre-Call" phones except for mopera, Public Mode, English Announcement, Caller ID Display Request and WORLD CALL.
Please note that mopera access is restricted to the "mopera Free Information", "mopera Net Surfing" and "mopera Live!" services. On another hand, there is no need to apply for the English Announcement and WORLD CALL services.

- When calling IP phones with Pre-Call, the current communications charges to landline phones apply regardless of the IP phone number.
Amounts listed include consumption tax. Please note that for the actual bill the amount of the tax is calculated from the total of individual items excluding tax so the billing amount may differ from the total of individual items including tax.
