In the 4th generation, aka, IMT-Advanced, higher transmission speeds and more flexible system are the targets.
The super high transmission speeds of max. 100Mbps for outdoors and max. 1Gbps for indoors will be realized, which significantly exceed the current systems.
DOCOMO's R&D is currently confirming the basic performance through field experiments etc.

An ultra-high-speed packet transmission experiment for achieving a transmission data rate of approximately 5 Gbit/s (spectral efficiency of 50 bit/s/Hz) was performed using a 100-MHz channel bandwidth in broadband packet radio access.
