NTT DoCoMo to Market 1-Megapixel Handset

TOKYO, JAPAN, June 18, 2003 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. and its eight regional subsidiaries announced today that on June 20, 2003 they will begin marketing the SH505i, a camera phone equipped with a 1-megapixel (effective resolution) CCD camera. Extra-high resolution makes the SH505i ideal for enjoying photos sent with DoCoMo's i-shot™ picture messaging service. SH505i photos can be printed out with a resolution of 79 million pixels.

This is the third model in the new 505i series of enhanced-2G handsets. Equipped with a Flash™ browser, 505i series handsets can access a broad range of rich content and applications with highly fluid animation.

The SH505i comes with a 2.4-inch, 262,144-color QVGA high resolution screen.

The external storage slot accepts the mini SD memory card (16MB), which can record up to 30 minutes of video and save about 800 photos in the i-shot small-size format.

The SH505i is equipped for i-appli DX™, the enhanced i-appli™ service providing access to a wide range of content and applications. Using downloadable applications, it is possible to highly customize the SH505i's address book and call log, as well as i-mode mail services.

The SH505i will be available through all DoCoMo sales channels. The price of the handset including miniSD Memory Card and its adaptor will be open (unfixed). Its standard accessory kit, including battery pack, AC adaptor and desktop holder, will cost 5,700 yen*.
