Featured in this section are detailed descriptions of some of the issues and troubles you might face when using certain services, as well as a few matters that we thought might catch your attention.
We advise you to carefully read through each of the information pages linked below.
"Fictitious bills" and Other Illegal e-mails
Recently, we have been receiving an increasing number of reports from our customers, stating that they got "an e-mail or a phone call from people who pretend they have been mandated by unknown Internet contents providers to collect fees for use of their services, or demanding payment of unsettled arrears; asking for great amounts of money, and giving instructions on how to make the payment".
If you receive such a suspicious e-mail or phone call, asking you for great amounts of money in payment for services you do not remember using, we suggest you do not pay without making all necessary verifications first, and avoid replying directly to the e-mail’s sender. You are probably being confronted with what is generally referred to as a "fictitious bill". If this is the case, then dishonest persons, who have by some obscure means obtained your phone number or e-mail address, are seeking to beguile you.
Spam e-mail Sent Via SMS (Short Message Service for FOMA)
Lately, we have been getting inquiries from our customers, regarding spam e-mails that were sent to them via SMS (Short Message Service).
Among them, we have been informed of cases where the user, by clicking on a link (URL) that was inserted in the mail, was taken to a screen with a message to the effect that "his/her registration as a member had been completed", before he/she started getting further e-mails asking for great amounts of money (see figure 1: concrete example).
To avoid troubles, if you receive a suspicious mail, please do not click on any of the links that it may contain.
Besides, if you own a FOMA terminal, you can make use of its "SMS Rejection Function", and set it to reject SMS automatically (you have two possibilities: "general SMS" rejection; and "only Caller ID blocked SMS" rejection).
If you do not plan on using SMS at all, we advise you to use this function.
*The "SMS Rejection Function" can be used together with other spam e-mail related functions such as "Receive Mail from Selected Domains" etc.
*mova users who receive SMS spam mail can use the Reject All Short Mail Function.

With malicious methods such as the one described in the figure above, wicked spam e-mail senders can force you to give out personal information (i.e your phone number) by just clicking on an URL.
To avoid troubles, do not carelessly click on such URLs.
In the case described above, even if you click on the malicious URL, information such as your name, your address, your i-mode e-mail address etc. will not be transmitted to the SMS sender.
