What’s i-mode Compatible HTML?

i-mode compatible HTML is a description language for creating websites for i-mode. Placing pages described in i-mode compatible HTML on a Web server accessible from the Internet enables them to be viewed from i-mode compatible handset models.

Features of i-mode compatible HTML

  • i-mode websites use subsets of HTML 2.0, 3.2, 4.0 and 4.01.
  • Shift_JIS character encoding must be used. Images should be in the GIF format.
  • Scripting languages are not supported.
  • Half-size kana characters can be used.
