What’s Deco-mail®?

Deco-mail is a service that allows the user to exchange simple HTML mail between Deco-mail compatible handsets, or between Deco-mail compatible handsets and the Internet.notice1 With some handset models, Deco-mail is even easier to send if you use Deco-mail templates when you compose Deco-mail, and you can insert Deco-mail pictograms in mail text.

notice1 There are two ways to send Deco-mail to compatible handsets: the first one is from a Deco-mail compatible handset and the second one is via the Internet, from a PC. The information given on this page mainly relates to the latter.

Basic specifications

  • In this section, the term "HTML mail" means MIME multipart messages that are made of the HTML message (HTML part), text message (text part), and inline images.
  • If HTML mail is sent to an i-mode compatible handset that is compatible with Deco-mail, the handset will automatically receive the HTML part of the message (and the inline images). If the same HTML mail is sent to an i-mode handset model that is not compatible with Deco-mail, the handset will receive the text part (and the inline images as attachment file with FOMA).
  • GIF and JPEG files can be sent as inline images.
