What’s i-motion?

i-motion is a service that allows you to build and provide multimedia data of high expressive potential (such as movies, sounds, etc.) for the FOMA i-mode platform. As in the traditional i-mode service, these i-motion files can be distributed by Contents Providers (CP) via regular CP servers.
i-motion is not a streaming-type service that gradually erases data after use; but a service that accumulates the downloaded data in cache memorynotice1

notice1 This, however, can also be set so that downloaded data is not kept stored into the terminal.

Versions of i-motion

There are two versions of i-motion: MP4 compatible i-motion and ASF compatible i-motion.

MP4 Compatible i-motion

In MP4 compatible i-motion, the video (MPEG4), audio (AMR/AAC/HE-AAC, Enhanced aacPlus), and text (Timed Text) data are multiplexed and rendered in an MP4 file. 2051 series and later FOMA handsets are compatible with this.

ASF Compatible i-motion

In ASF compatible i-motion, the video (MPEG4) and audio (AMR) are multiplexed and rendered in an ASF file. FOMA D2101V, FOMA SH2101V, and FOMA T2101V handsets are compatible with this.
