When using i-mode, IP addresses that can be assigned to handsets are contained in the following ranges
The IP address ranges are occasionally updated, so check to see if they have been updated whenever necessary.
Updated November 2009 (Past update information has been replaced with update information on IP address ranges for the i-mode center.)

All i-mode compatible handsets.
Please note that the scheduled dates for adding IP address ranges may be changed for certain reasons.
When accessing the web (full browser)
- 210.153.87.0/24
However, in the event that there is a failure at the i-mode Center caused by for example a large-scale disaster, access may occur from the same IP address range as "When accessing the Web (i-mode Browser)".
When sending an e-mail(Internet -> i-mode compatible phone)
- 203.138.180.0/24
- 203.138.181.0/24
When receiving an e-mail(i-mode compatible phone -< Internet)
- 203.138.203.0/24
When using i-mode mail, i-motion mail, or i-shot mail
The IP address assigned to an i-mode compatible phone may differ each time it accesses a given web server.
For your comfort of use, we do not notify you of the changes made to your IP address, Thank you in advance for your understanding.
However, if any changes are made to the above-mentioned IP addresses range, we will publicly announce it on this page.
Please note that all the information contained within this page is only indicative, as we cannot guarantee that the accesses made with the IP addresses contained in the ranges given above will all be made from the i-mode Center.
When accessing the Center from outside Japan, a "Roaming Bit" is automatically attached to the header as an extension.
|
|
"Country codes" are used to detect which country the user is accessing from.
When accessing from Japan, no "Roaming Bit" is attached.
For a list of all the used country codes, please refer to ITU’s "
(Another window will open.)List of Mobile Country or Geographical Area Codes".
The following extension header is added when accessing via other than the FOMA network such as when using the HOMEU service or MyArea service.

The following shows the value set for the route information of each service.
When using the HOMEU service: WLAN
When using the MyArea service: FMT
The header above is added to distinguish that the user is accessing via other than the FOMA network.
The header above is not added when accessing from the FOMA network.
For details on the HOMEU service, see to the HOMEU page (in Japanese only).
For details on the MyArea service, see the MyArea page (in Japanese only).
The i-mode ID is a number unique to the user. i-mode compatible sites can acquire that i-mode ID with an extension header when the site is accessed. The parameter for acquiring the i-mode ID needs to be noted in the URL in advance.

Parameter is not casesensitive, and URL encoding is ignored.
Compatible with both GET and POST methods. (Applies when URL is noted in the GET or POST request line. The BODY part of POST does not apply.)

Header is casesensitive.
Notes on use
If the user’s i-mode ID is set not to be used, an i-mode ID extension header is not assigned.
The i-mode ID will change if the user transfers subscription, changes phone number, or cancels i-mode subscription.
Once assigned, an i-mode ID is not reused.
The i-mode ID cannot be assigned in SSL communications.
With a 2in1 subscription, the A number i-mode ID is assigned, regardless of which mode is in use.
The i-mode ID may not be sent due to construction on exchanges and other equipment or network congestion.
This is an extension header that is added when accessing the Internet from handset models released in or after the first half of fiscal year 2009.
i-mode Center size limit for receiving mail
Please be careful of the data size when sending e-mail to i-mode users. A limit of approximately 5 MB for received mail including attached files is set at the i-mode Center. Mail in excess of this size
1 cannot be received, and the error code "552 Message size exceeds maximum value" will be returned to the sender.
1 The actual size and type of attached files that can be received by the handset differ by model.
Cautions when sending large volumes of mail
If many "unknown user" errors occur when sending e-mail newsletters and other large volumes of mail, the i-mode Center spam e-mail prevention measures may make it difficult for you to send mail to i-mode users. Remove from your mailing list addresses indicated as being for unknown users, and otherwise manage addresses appropriately if you send large volumes of mail.

Sender authentication (Sender ID/SPF)
The i-mode center may use sender authentication (Sender ID/SPF) depending on your settings. Note when delivering mail that the SPF (TXT) record of the sender’s DNS server is referenced in such cases.
