Menu Icon Customization

"Menu icons" are the images on the "Menu" screen of a mobile phone that represent its various functions. In mobile phones that support the "Menu icon customization" function1, it is possible to download new images and to use them to personalize the menu.

Menu icons are customized as shown in the figure below.

• The way to configure menu icon customization settings differs depending on the mobile phone model.
• Whether or not the background menu can be set depends on the mobile phone model.
• For some models, menu names need to be embedded into the images beforehand. Otherwise, the menu icons displayed will just be images with no menu names.

Images satisfying the following conditions can be set as menu icon images, etc.

• Images are in a format compatible with the menu icon function of the corresponding model.
• The image size is one that allows the image to be recognized as a menu icon.

Image formats and sizes differ depending on the mobile phone model.

Check the following information for the corresponding model in the list.

• Image size
• Compatible image formats (JPEG, GIF, etc.)
• Function / menu names
• Whether or not the embedding of menu names is required
