• Cases have been reported of users being billed large charges as a result of their handsets being used by third parties when their handset is lost or stolen overseas. Please note that you are responsible for any voice/data communications charges incurred after loss or theft. If your handset is lost or stolen, contact DOCOMO immediately from where you are and suspend your subscription even if the handset is not compatible with overseas usage. See here for contact details before you go overseas.
  • DOCOMO sets a monthly limit to suspend the WORLD WING service when charges are confirmed to have exceeded the limit. However, suspension of the service cannot always be made even after the usage exceeds the limit, due to delays in receiving data on charges from the operator at your travel destination (namely, the overseas country or region of stay where the WORLD WING service is available; the same applies hereinafter). You should therefore not rely on this monthly limit for the purpose of using this Service only within a certain charge range (suspending this Service at the limit you have set). (Please refer to "5. Limit on communications charges" for details on the monthly limit.)

[FOMA users]

  • If you are a FOMA user and fall into any of the following categories, you will not be able to apply for this Service:
    • 1If you are using a blue FOMA Cardnotice
      • noticeIf you are using a blue FOMA Card, please visit your nearest docomo Shop and exchange it free of charge for a FOMA Card compatible with this Service.
      • noticeIf you change your FOMA Card, user authentication may not be possible for some of the i-mode sites you were using (including sites on the i-mode Menu List), and you may no longer be able to use these sites as before (settings may be completely reset). For details, please see here (in Japanese only).
    • 2If the billing plan you use is Type Limit, Type Limit Value, Limit Plus, Ubiquitous Plan, Family Wide Limit, or Family Wide Limit Value.

[mova users]

  1. If you are a mova user, you will need to apply for the WORLD WING Handset Rental Service in addition to this Service. (An overseas compatible mobile phone is necessary for those who have a WORLD WING overseas SIM card.)
  2. If you use mova service, this Service will not be available in the following cases.
    • 1If you use Pre-Call, or if the billing plan you use is Type Limit, Limit Plus, Family Wide Limit, or Do Nich Yo.
    • 2If you have applied for Select Phone, Number Plus, Toll-Free Number Service, Message Box, or Call Unit Display Service.
  3. If you wish to activate the overseas roaming announcement while roaming overseas, please configure the announcement setting via remote operation from your travel destination. (If you are using mova service, the overseas roaming announcement cannot be activated in Japan.) Furthermore, if these settings have been made while roaming overseas, communications charges may be incurred separately for these settings. (For details on how to configure settings and other information, please see here.)
  4. After you terminate WORLD WING Handset Rental Service, you are required to return the WORLD WING rental handset. Before returning it, or immediately after returning it, you may not be able to apply to DOCOMO to switch to FOMA, change your mobile phone number, transfer the subscription, suspend your mobile phone subscription, cancel your mobile phone subscription, or apply for Mobile Number Portability.
  5. The WORLD WING overseas SIM card belongs to DOCOMO. Please return the WORLD WING overseas SIM card if you cancel this Service, or if requested to do so by DOCOMO.
  6. The WORLD WING overseas SIM card cannot be used in Japan.
  7. If the subscriber of this Service changes the mobile phone number, transfers the subscription, or suspends (or reactivates) the use of the mobile phone service, the subscriber will need to reapply for a WORLD WING overseas SIM card. In this case, a card issue charge specified by DOCOMO will be incurred.

[WORLD WING service users]

  1. When using this Service, DOCOMO may send you notices via SMS. (Receiving these notices is free. If you are a 2in1 Service subscriber, you will receive these notices from DOCOMO only to your A number.) Such messages will be received regardless of whether or not you have configured your phone to reject SMS messages. However, such messages may not be received or displayed properly depending on factors such as the functions available on your overseas compatible mobile phone and communications conditions of the operator at your travel destination.
  2. You may be able to reply to these messages, but attempting to reply may incur communications charges upon transmission regardless of whether delivery of the reply was completed.

  • In some countries and regions, packet communications such as i-mode and mopera U, SMS or digital communications services such as Videophone may not be available, even while voice roaming services are. Moreover, digital communications services such as Videophone are only available in the 3G service area of countries in which such services are available.
  • In some cases, you may be able to use this Service even outside the indicated service areas. Voice/data communications charges will apply as set by the operator who provides the service.
  • noticeCommunications services at your travel destination may be regulated according to the laws of your travel destination and contract stipulations set forth by the local operator. DOCOMO has no control over such laws or stipulations, and assumes no responsibility.
  • noticeIf there is more than one operator available in the area of your travel destination, you can select an operator yourself (an operator is set to be selected automatically under the default setting). However, you may not be able to select an operator yourself depending on the overseas compatible mobile phone you are using. Please refer to the user's manual etc, of the overseas compatible mobile phone in use.
  • noticeEven in regions where only the GSM service is officially offered, this Service may be available in the W-CDMA (3G) service area before the official service starts, depending on the operator at your travel destination. In that case, voice/data communications charges set for that operator's GSM service will apply. Moreover, while digital communications charges set in each country generally apply for the use of Videophone in that service area, for some operators' GSM service areas, voice/data communications charges may apply.
  • Voice/data communications charges for this Service depend on the country or region where you use this Service, the local operator, and the other party you call. The billing system for voice/data communications charges for this Service, including for the use of packet communications such as i-mode and mopera U, SMS, or digital communications services such as Videophone, differs from that of domestic voice/data communications charges for FOMA and mova services in Japan. Be sure to see here along with other notes.

  • noticeVoice/data communications charges for this Service are calculated and charged according to the duration of communications and the volume of communications measured with equipment of the operator at your travel destination and DOCOMO.
  • noticeWith some operators at your travel destination and under certain network conditions, voice/data communications charges may be incurred even if you cannot connect to the other party or if the transmission is not completed.
  • noticeEven if you make a call without the international prefix number or the country code, such numbers may be automatically added and the call may be connected due to communications conditions etc. of your travel destination's operators. In this case, voice communications charges may be incurred.
  • noticeSome operators at your travel destination may also count the ringback time when making or receiving calls as communications time due to specific network conditions etc.
  • noticeDepending on the operator at your travel destination, charges may apply even when you hang up before the other party answers your call, due to factors such as communications conditions.
  • noticeDepending on the operator at your travel destination, you may be connected to a local call center, announcement, etc. when making a dialing mistake, due to factors such as communications conditions. In this case, voice communications charges may be incurred.

(Likewise, calls to other countries may be counted as voice/data communications charges within the country of stay.)
  • noticeIn some countries and regions, this Service may be available through the network of an operator other than an operator of that country or region (if the network setting on your overseas compatible mobile phone is configured to Auto, or when using the phone on a boat or a ship etc.). In this case, voice/data communications charges for this Service set for the relevant operator will apply. If you wish to use the network of a specific operator, you need to change the network settings on your overseas compatible mobile phone. (For details on how to change the network settings, please see here (in Japanese only) and also the user's manual for your overseas compatible mobile phone etc.)
  • noticeIn some coastal areas of Japan or on the sea, etc., this Service may be available through the network of an operator other than DOCOMO. In this case, for customers whose overseas compatible mobile phone's network setting is configured to Auto, the operator network may be automatically selected on the network side, voice/data communications may be recognized as being conducted through this Service, and voice/data communications charges for this Service set for the relevant operator may apply. If you wish to access only the DOCOMO network in a coastal area of Japan or on the sea, etc., you need to change your network settings to "DOCOMO" on your overseas compatible mobile phone. (For details on how to configure settings, please see here (in Japanese only).) Otherwise, please cancel this Service.
  • noticeVoice/data communications charges for this Service are covered by communications allowances included in FOMA service or mova service billing plans and Packet Packs. However, they are not covered by communications allowances included in FOMA Data Communications Billing Plans and by various discounts such as Mail Tsukai-hodai, Pake-hodai, Pake-hodai double, Pake-hodai full, FOMA flat-rate data plans, and Yu Yu Call Discount. Rental charges for WORLD WING Handset Rental Service are not covered by communications allowances or various discounts in any case.
  • noticeFree calls and i-mode mail within the family discount group etc. will not apply to overseas usage. (When calling a WORLD WING user from within Japan, the charge system for domestic calls within Japan will apply and the call will be free of charge as the same dialing method is used as that for domestic calls between two users in Japan. Furthermore, when exchanging i-mode mail with a WORLD WING user while you are in Japan, the domestic charge system for Japan will apply and you will not be charged for communications as the same sending/receiving method is used as that for domestic mail between two users in Japan.)
  • noticeCharges for this Service are included in your monthly FOMA service or mova service bill. However, charges may be included in subsequent monthly FOMA service or mova service bills as it may take up to 30 days for charge data to be sent from the operator you used. In this case, charges are covered by communications allowances of the month when the charges are actually billed. Moreover, charges incurred in the same billing period may be split over two months, and charged in that month's bill and the subsequent month's bill.
  • noticeEven while you use this Service overseas, voice/data communications charges incurred when you used the mova service, etc. in Japan will be billed.
  • noticeIf you wish to receive an itemized statement of voice/data communications charges for this Service, you will need to apply for Itemized Billing Service separately in advance.
  • noticeIf you are a mova user and have used the WORLD WING Handset Rental Service more than once in the same month, you cannot specify how itemized statements for the "Itemized Billing Service" are recorded or delivered by each use of the WORLD WING Handset Rental Service. DOCOMO will prepare and provide you with a single itemized statement for the month based on the terms and conditions of your last application for WORLD WING Handset Rental Service in the month.
  • noticeIn some cases, the numbers listed on your itemized billing statement of voice/data communications charges for this Service may differ from the numbers you actually dialed. For example, certain digits in the phone number may be different (when, for example, you used remote operations such as Voice Mail Service) or a completely different number may be listed (if, for example, you made a dialing mistake and were connected to the local call center, announcement, etc.).
  • There may be cases where the image of the other person displayed on your overseas compatible mobile phone supporting Videophone is distorted or the call cannot be connected depending on the Videophone compatible mobile phone model of the other party and other compatible equipment. However, you will still be required to pay digital communications charges for Videophone usage according to charges set by the operator at your travel destination.
  • When you apply for this Service, DOCOMO will set a monthly limit on communications charges (hereinafter referred to as the "monthly limit") to suspend the usage of this Service when cumulative monthly charges (hereinafter referred to as "cumulative monthly charges") exceed a certain amount.
  • The cumulative monthly charges subject to the monthly limit include voice communications charges, digital communications charges, packet communications charges, and SMS communications charges (if you are a 2in1 Service subscriber, the total amount for your A number and B number will be included) while you use the international roaming service.
  • DOCOMO uses charge data sent from operators subject to this Service to determine if cumulative monthly charges exceed the monthly limit. However, charges actually billed may exceed the monthly limit due to the delay (up to 30 days) in the sending of this data, or due to system maintenance or system trouble concerning DOCOMO's telecommunications equipment. You should therefore not rely on this monthly limit for the purpose of using the service only within a certain charge range (suspending the service at the limit you have set).
  • DOCOMO will suspend this Service until the end of the applicable month when it is confirmed that your cumulative monthly charges have exceeded the monthly limit. In this case, this Service may only be restarted after the end of the month. Furthermore, you may be notified by SMS if DOCOMO confirms that cumulative monthly charges are approaching the monthly limit or if they have exceeded the monthly limit. (Receiving these notices is free. If you are a 2in1 Service subscriber, you will receive these notices from DOCOMO only to your A number.) Such messages will be received regardless of whether or not you configured your phone to reject SMS messages. However, such messages may not be received or displayed properly depending on factors such as the functions available on your overseas compatible mobile phone and communications conditions of the operator at your travel destination. You may be able to reply to these messages depending on the model of your overseas compatible mobile phone, but attempting to reply may incur communications charges upon transmission regardless of whether delivery of the reply was completed.
  • DOCOMO confirms whether or not the cumulative monthly charges have exceeded the monthly limit based on the amount before communications allowances have been applied.
  • Even when the cumulative monthly charges exceed the monthly limit, you will be required to pay all the cumulative monthly charges including those that exceed the monthly limit.
  • If this Service has been suspended, it will be restarted again after DOCOMO has confirmed that all cumulative monthly charges have been paid. (To use packet communications after this Service is restarted, you will need to turn your mobile phone OFF/ON. Furthermore, please note that it may take some time to restart this Service after you pay the amount due.)
  • Even if your cumulative monthly charges have not exceeded the monthly limit, you may pay the cumulative monthly charges. In this case, the cumulative monthly charges you have paid will be exempt from the monthly limit in the applicable month.
  • When cumulative monthly charges are paid during the month they were incurred, they will not be covered by communications allowances. Communications allowances will be applied to total charges, including cumulative monthly charges already paid, in each month's bill. If charges already paid exceed the billing amount after communications allowances have been applied, applicable charges will be indicated as a negative amount as 今月お返しできなかった金額 (Amount unable to be refunded this month), and will be subtracted from subsequent bills.
  • You can pay the cumulative monthly charges from your travel destination with a credit card (single payment only) by phone (see here for contact details), through the DOCOMO website ((A new window will open.)My docomo (in Japanese only)), or via the i-mode site (お客様サポート [Customer support]). However, you cannot make payment through the i-mode site while this Service is suspended.
  • You can make payment in Japan for your cumulative monthly charges at a docomo Shop counter, through the DOCOMO website ((A new window will open.)My docomo (in Japanese only)), or via the i-mode site (お客様サポート [Customer support]).
  • If DOCOMO receives information regarding excessive charges separate from the charge data from the operator you used, and judges that charges for this Service for one day have possibly exceeded the monthly limit, usage of this Service will be suspended. In this case, DOCOMO will inform you of the suspension in writing.
  • If DOCOMO suspends this Service based on information regarding excessive charges, you may receive SMS notices from DOCOMO advising you that your service is to be suspended. (Receiving these notices is free. If you have subscribed to the 2in1 Service, you will receive these notices only to your A number.) Such messages cannot be received if you have configured your phone to reject SMS messages. In addition, such messages may not be received or displayed properly depending on factors such as the functions available on your overseas compatible mobile phone and communications conditions of the operator at your travel destination. You cannot reply to these messages. (Attempting to reply may incur communications charges upon transmission regardless of whether or not the sending of that reply is completed.)
  • If this Service is to be suspended based on information regarding excessive charges, this Service will only be restarted upon your request when DOCOMO confirms that you were responsible for the high charges.
  • Please see here for operators who offer packet communications services.
  • If your overseas compatible mobile phone is HSDPA compatible and the service area of the operator at your travel destination is within an HSDPA area of a 3G area pursuant to global standards specified in 3GPP, communications via the HSDPA service may be available. Even in this case, the data rate may be slower than that in the FOMA HIGH-SPEED area in Japan due to communications conditions or the fluctuation in data rates caused by network congestion. Operators who offer the HSDPA services at your travel destination are limited. Please check here.

    noticeIn areas of poor reception, the service is not available even within the service area.

  • If the network setting on your overseas compatible mobile phone is configured to Auto, the operator network will be automatically selected on the network side. If you wish to use specific services other than voice communications with this Service, such as the packet communications service or Videophone, please change these settings and designate an operator which offers the relevant services. (For details, see here (in Japanese only) and the user's manual etc. for your overseas compatible mobile phone.)
  • Even within the service area of an operator which offers packet communications services, packet communications may be unavailable depending on factors such as communications conditions.
  • The billing system for packet communications with this Service is different from those of the usual FOMA service or packet communications service. Be sure to check here for more information on communications charges.
  • If you use packet communications with this Service, a minimum packet communications charge for each connection (from ¥50 or from ¥100) and packet communications charges for the corresponding volume of communications will apply for all communications, including incomplete connections caused by authentication errors etc.

1. i-mode

<General>

  • To use i-mode with this Service, you will need to subscribe to the i-mode service in Japan in advance and have an overseas compatible mobile phone supporting i-mode. (Please see "2. Mobile phones compatible with this Service" above for more information.)
  • To view i-mode sites with this Service, you will need to confirm the notes on use on the i-mode International Settings screen and enable International Settings.
  • noticei-mode is disabled by default.

  • Even if you have configured your i-mode International Settings not to use i-mode overseas, sending and receiving i-mode mail; making inquiries; accessing "Mail Preview Site", "Retrieve selected mail", and i-menu; automatic activation of i-αppli; and viewing the 2in1 Service WEB mail site is still possible, and packet communications will occur. Even in this case, packet communications charges must be paid according to the actual packet communications made.
  • The i-mode service provided by operators at your travel destination is not available for use with this Service.
  • i-channel video content is not available from your travel destination.
  • The use of i-mode at your travel destination may conflict with the laws and regulations of your destination country or region depending on the content of sites and information you view and the i-mode mail you send and receive. When using i-mode overseas, please check the laws and regulations of your destination country or region.

<Communications charges>

  • If you use the i-mode service with this Service, packet communications charges will be incurred for all communications, including those that are free in Japan, regardless of stipulations in the i-mode usage regulations.
  • noticeIf you use i-mode with this Service, a minimum packet communications charge for each connection (from ¥50 or from ¥100) and packet communications charges for the corresponding volume of communications will apply. We recommend that you disconnect communications as seldom as possible when you use i-mode with this Service. The following are examples of communications that are counted as one connection.
    • From the moment i-mode communications start until the communications automatically end following a predetermined period after communications are no longer available.
    • From the moment i-mode communications start until the handset in use receives a signal from DOCOMO's telecommunications equipment to disconnect communications.
    • From the moment i-mode communications start until the End key is pressed.
    • From the moment i-mode communications start until you leave the service area or the communications end due to poor reception.
    • From the moment i-mode communications start until you receive a voice call during i-mode communications (when using GPRS).
    • From the moment i-mode communications start until you receive a Videophone call during i-mode communications.
    • When i-mode mail is sent or received.

<Viewing sites>

  • If you use i-mode with this Service, the use of sites may be restricted, depending on the site, for the convenience of content providers. (You may not be able to view all/parts of sites, acquire all/parts of information, etc.) Furthermore, site content viewed overseas may be different from that which you view in Japan.
  • Even if the use of sites or information is restricted, you may be able to cancel the contract with content providers for the use of sites or information by using your overseas compatible mobile phone while abroad, depending on the site.
  • In accordance with the above, even if the use of sites or information available in Japan is restricted based on the i-mode information service subscription (which is a contract concluded between you and the party that concludes the contract with DOCOMO for offering information to users via i-mode, so you can view fee-based sites or acquire fee-based information via your i-mode mobile phone; the same applies hereinafter), you will be required to pay information charges based on the i-mode information service subscription applicable to the period even when the use of sites or information available in Japan is restricted.
  • If you use i-mode with this Service, depending on the site you view, the content provider may be notified that you are viewing the site in a country where the international roaming service is available, and may receive information that specifies your country of stay in order to determine that you are accessing the site from overseas. However, this does not mean that the content provider or other third parties will be able to identify your location in detail while you use this Service.

<Using i-mode mail>

  • When sending and receiving i-mode mail while overseas, different mail size limits and conditions apply depending on your mobile phone model and the communications method (FOMA or mova service) subscribed to. For details, check the user's manual etc. for your overseas compatible mobile phone.
  • If your overseas compatible mobile phone is set to automatically receive i-mode mail, i-mode mail will be received automatically. Each mail received is counted as one connection, and a minimum packet communications charge for each connection (from ¥50 or from ¥100) and packet communications charges for the corresponding volume of communications will apply.
  • By configuring the "Receive option setting" in advance, instead of automatically receiving all i-mode mail, you can download selected mail from the "Retrieve selected mail" site after checking the title, or you can just check the title and the content of the mail on the "Mail Preview Site" and then download the remaining mail after returning to Japan, using an i-mode mobile phone. (Even when you check i-mode mail on the "Retrieve selected mail" site, each access to the "Retrieve selected mail" site and the "Mail Preview Site" will be counted as one connection and a minimum packet communications charge for each connection (from ¥50 or from ¥100) and packet communications charges for the corresponding volume of communications will be incurred.) A maximum of 1,000 messages in the case of FOMA service or 50 messages in the case of mova service can be stored at the i-mode center for up to 720 hours.
  • If you select "Check new messages", all mail will be downloaded even if "Retrieve selected mail" is set. If you wish only to receive Message R and not mail, remove the mail item from "Check new messages". (For details, please see the user's manual etc. for your overseas compatible mobile phone.)
  • Message R including News delivery service (Tokudane News Bin) is automatically received at your travel destination and packet communications charges apply even if you have activated the "Retrieve selected mail" function on your phone.
  • If you do not wish to receive Message R at your travel destination, you can make changes to temporarily suspend Message R on the delivery settings screen of the respective i-mode content provider or configure the Reject All Messages setting for Message R via the i-mode site or My docomo to stop the receiving of all Message R while you are traveling. (The Reject All Messages setting is a function available only while you are using this Service, so your phone will receive Message R while in Japan irrespective of your settings.)
  • It is free to configure the Reject All Messages setting for Message R from within Japan, but packet communications charges apply to configure the setting at your travel destination.
  • If you do not wish to receive My Info Mail at your travel destination, you can configure the Reject All Messages setting for Message R via the i-mode site or My docomo to also stop the receiving of My Info Mail while you are traveling.
  • noticeIf you are a FOMA service or mova service (WORLD WING overseas SIM card) user, once you change the Reject All Messages setting, the setting will remain unchanged at your next travel destination. WORLD WING Handset Rental Service users of mova service need to change the setting every time they travel overseas.
  • You cannot receive notices from ドコモからのお知らせ(メッセージR)(docomo News [Message R]) at your travel destination regardless of the Message R Reject All Messages setting while you are using this Service.
  • Packet communications charges apply to access sites from My Info Mail at your travel destination.
  • Message F is not available overseas.
  • noticeTo change the setting for receiving i-mode mail, please see here (in Japanese only).
  • noticeIf you are a mova user and use the function for sending and receiving i-mode mail via this Service, the number of characters you can send and receive will be different from that in Japan.

<Using i-area -country of stay information->

  • If you use i-area -country of stay information-, your country code informationnotice1 will be made available to i-mode content providers. In addition, the latitude and longitude informationnotice2 for the base station of the area in which you are located may be made available to the i-mode content provider in addition to your country code information when you select an overseas operatornotice3 contracted with DOCOMO to provide roaming location information services and use i-area -country of stay information-.
    • notice1 Country code information is information in a numerical format that represents the country in which the base station exchanging signals with your overseas compatible mobile phone is located in your country or region of stay. • notice2 The latitude and longitude information for the base station of the area in which you are located is the latitude and longitude information of the base station exchanging signals with your overseas compatible mobile phone in the country or region in which you are located. i-mode content providers who are provided with this information, and third parties, are able to identify your approximate current location.
    • notice3 Overseas operators include South Korea's KT only.
  • Countries and regions where i-area -country of stay information- is available differ from voice/data communications service areas. Check here (in Japanese only) for details.
  • When you use i-area -country of stay information-, the content offered by i-mode content providers may not be displayed correctly or you may be unable to use it.
  • Information on countries and regions outside your current location may be displayed depending on the location in which you are using the service (such as when near national borders).
  • Information on other countries and regions may be displayed due to communications conditions such as signal conditions, even if accessing from the same location as before.
  • You shall assume full responsibility for any use of the i-area -country of stay information- service. Any problems that arise between you and an i-mode content provider whose content you have used shall be resolved between you and that i-mode content provider.
  • i-area -country of stay information- and i-area -Local Information- are different services (i-area -Local Information- is not available at your travel destination). If you try to access i-area -Local Information- at your travel destination, an error message will be displayed, and you will be charged for the packet communications charges according to the operator at your travel destination.

<Using GPS (Overseas)>

  • GPS (Overseas) (hereinafter referred to as "this function") is a function that enables your overseas compatible mobile phone to use GPS to acquire the latitude and longitude information of the handset's overseas location. GPS (Overseas) Map Menu List (hereinafter referred to as "this site") is a site that displays on a map the latitude and longitude information of the handset's overseas location, acquired using this function, as well as a list of i-mode content providers who manage the map sites and i-αppli.
  • As this function uses satellite signals, reception may be weak or may not be available within buildings, in areas with many skyscrapers, near high-voltage cables, and in areas with many trees. In such cases, there may be a great difference between the acquired latitude and longitude information and the actual position where the corresponding handset is located (300 m or more in some cases), or it may not be possible to acquire the latitude and longitude information. Also, there are cases where content provided by i-mode content providers who manage the map sites and i-αppli cannot be displayed or used properly when using this site.
  • With regards to the latitude and longitude information acquired using this function, you shall assume full responsibility and abide by the rules and regulations of the country or region of use.
  • The map content displayed based on the latitude and longitude information acquired using this function is based on services provided by i-mode content providers who manage the map sites and i-αppli. Furthermore, the copyrights and other rights for the map content belong to the i-mode content providers who manage the map sites and i-αppli.
  • When you use map content based on the latitude and longitude information acquired using this function, the latitude and longitude information is provided to the i-mode content provider.
  • DOCOMO does not guarantee the integrity, usefulness, accuracy, or currency of the map site or content of map data.
  • Depending on the country or region in which you use this function, the acquired latitude and longitude information and the latitude and longitude information displayed on maps may not match for national security or other reasons (the errors may be remarkable in some regions).
  • You shall assume full responsibility for any use of this function and map content. Any problems that arise between you and an i-mode content provider shall be resolved between you and that i-mode content provider regarding the use of map content provided by the i-mode content provider.
  • Acquiring latitude and longitude information using this function is free of charge, but packet communications charges will apply when you use map content based on the corresponding latitude and longitude information. However, please note that packet communications charges will apply for acquiring latitude and longitude information with some models that do not support i-mode, such as BlackBerry®. Please check here (in Japanese only) for more information on handsets compatible with this function and packet communications charges.
  • DOCOMO bears no responsibility whatsoever for any damages incurred as a result of using this function.
  • Map content displayed on this site is provided by NTT Resonant Inc.

<Using i-channel>

  • To use i-channel overseas, it is necessary to configure Basic Channel International Settings to Update at the i-channel International Settings screen. (The default settings is Do not update, and the i-channel automatic update function will be automatically suspended at the time of the first update after departing Japan. In that case, when this automatic update function is suspended, packet communications charges will apply according to the operator at your travel destination.) When using i-channel overseas, packet communications charges will apply according to the operator at your travel destination for the viewing of the i-channel settings screen, for automatic updates, for the viewing of detailed information, etc.
  • When configuring Basic Channel International Settings to Update, you can set the frequency of updates to Once a day, Twice a day, or Same as in Japan (approx. ten times a day). Furthermore, the packet communications charges indicated for automatic updates on the Basic Channel International Settings screen are estimates, and the actual charges billed may be higher. Also, packet communications charges for viewing detailed information from the channel list will apply according to the operator at your travel destination.
  • When overseas, i-channel automatic software updates may be performed at the same time as automatic updates of subtitle information. In this case, packet communications according to the operator at your destination will apply not only for the automatic update of the subtitle information, but also for the i-channel automatic software update.
  • Even if you have set the Basic Channel International Settings to update Once a day or Twice a day, settings will automatically return to the domestic update frequency after you return to Japan.
  • If you wish to use optional channels at your destination, it is necessary to configure Optional Channel International Settings under i-channel International Settings to Update after configuring Basic Channel International Settings to Update. Furthermore, regarding optional channel updates, the frequency of updates for each channel will be determined by the settings you made for each applicable channel, regardless of settings for the frequency of updates for basic channels.
  • If you do not wish to use i-channel at your destination, we recommend that you perform suspension settings of the automatic update function under "Various i-channel settings" in advance from within Japan. Packet communications charges will not apply in this case.
  • Even if International Settings are disabled, DOCOMO may perform automatic updates of i-channel software or other operations, and packet communications charges will apply in such cases.
  • If you suspend the i-channel automatic update function at your travel destination, a final information update to suspend further updates will be performed a certain period after you make the suspension setting. Packet communications charges will apply if this information update is performed while you are roaming overseas.
  • If you return to Japan with the i-channel automatic update function still suspended, the automatic update function will remain suspended even within Japan. Therefore, it is necessary to perform reactivation settings for the automatic update function under "Various i-channel settings" in order to use i-channel again.
  • If you switch your FOMA Card to a newly purchased or reformatted overseas compatible mobile phone at your travel destination, data for initial settings may be downloaded and communications charges may apply. Packet communications charges will not apply if you press the i-channel button and download the data from within Japan first.
  • If you use this Service during the i-channel trial service period, the i-channel trial service will end.

<Using i-concier>

  • Even if International Settings are disabled, information regarding overseas procedures for application/cancellation of i-concier, starting/ending the trial service, and completion of initial settings may be delivered. In such a case, packet communications charges according to the operator at your travel destination will apply.

<Using Music&Video Channel>

  • You cannot configure program settings while you are at your travel destination. If you try to configure program settings overseas while you use this Service, please be aware that packet communications charges will apply, even if you cannot actually configure the settings. You should therefore avoid configuring program settings at your travel destination.
  • You cannot download programs while you are at your travel destination. If you try to download programs (including cases where the automatic program retrieving function is activated) while you use this Service, please be aware that packet communications charges will apply, even if you cannot actually download programs. Therefore, please suspend the automatic program retrieving function while you are still in Japan if it is currently enabled.
  • If you suspended the automatic program retrieving function at your travel destination, it will remain suspended when you return to Japan (excluding some models). Therefore, you will need to configure the settings to restart the automatic program retrieving function.
  • If you travel abroad after cancelling the Music&Video Channel service in Japan but without deleting the program settings, or if you cancel the Music&Video Channel service at your travel destination, communications will be made to suspend the automatic program retrieving function at the program delivery time that was configured before the service was cancelled at your travel destination. In this case, an error message will be displayed and packet communications charges will apply.

  • You can continue to use the Phone Data Backup Service at your travel destination. If you have enabled International Settings, packet communications charges will be incurred with each update according to charges set by the operator at your travel destination.

When you use packet communications overseas, communications charges may become high due to large volumes of data being sent and received. Therefore, docomo Connection Manager (in Japanese only) is recommended to check an estimate of charges for packet communications you have used.

DOCOMO reserves the right to make changes to the above notes on use as necessary. When a change is made, details of the change will be notified through means such as the DOCOMO website.

NTT DOCOMO (hereinafter referred to as "DOCOMO") provides Local Number Roaming (South Korea) (hereinafter referred to as "this Service") based on "(A new window will open.)FOMA service contract stipulations (in Japanese only)" and "(A new window will open.)international dialing service contract stipulations (in Japanese only)" (hereinafter collectively referred to as "contract stipulations") determined by DOCOMO. Before using this Service, please acknowledge and consent to these contract stipulations, (A new window will open.)the WORLD WING Handset Rental Service terms of use determined (in Japanese only) by DOCOMO, and the notes below.

1. Overview of Local Number Roaming (South Korea)

  • This Service is a fee-based optional service of the WORLD WING service that allows a phone number specifically for South Korea (hereinafter referred to as the "Korean Number") to be used while using international roaming on the network of the South Korean operator KT (former KTF) (hereinafter referred to as "KT"). When using this service, voice and communications charges for making and receiving voice and Videophone calls are lower than those of the regular WORLD WING service.
  • FOMA service and WORLD WING service subscriptions are required to use this Service. The conditions for the provision of this Service are in accordance with those of WORLD WING. For details, please see here.
  • No subscription is required between the user and KT to use this Service.
  • When a subscriber enters the service area of KT, an SMS message confirming the Korean Number is sent (free of charge) to your overseas compatible mobile phone. If the incoming call restriction function is set, the setting needs to be disabled. It is not possible to confirm the Korean Number in the "Own number" display on the overseas compatible mobile phone.
  • Please check here (in Japanese only) for the details of this Service.

2. Notes on using this Service

  • To use this Service, change the network selection setting to Manual and select the KT network on your handset after you get to South Korea. Perform this operation each time you go to South Korea. When you leave South Korea (return to Japan or go to another country), change the network selection setting to Auto.
  • If you connect to an overseas operator other than KT (including DOCOMO) when you use the Korean Number, regular WORLD WING service charges will apply, not the charges for this Service.
  • This Service can be used for receiving calls on the Korean Number only when you are inside the service area of KT and using the KT network (in such a case, charges do not apply for receiving calls). If you receive calls on the handset phone number you normally use (hereinafter referred to as the "DOCOMO Number"), WORLD WING service charges will apply, not the charges for this Service.
  • The Korean Number is displayed for the Caller ID if you make a call from the Korean Number. However, you can add "#22" after the other party's phone number to change the Caller ID display to the DOCOMO Number. In such a case, WORLD WING service charges will apply, not the charges for this Service.
  • Network services such as sending and receiving SMS and the Voice Mail Service are not available for the Korean Number.
  • If you send and receive SMS or use packet communications while in South Korea, the regular WORLD WING service will be used, not this Service, and WORLD WING service charges will apply (no special operations such as changing settings, is required).
  • If you want to receive calls to your Korean Number when you are using the WORLD WING service outside the KT network (while, for example, in Japan), you can use the Korean Number incoming call forwarding function (hereinafter referred to as the "Forwarding Function") to have calls forwarded (receive calls) from your Korean Number to the DOCOMO Number (hereinafter referred to as "Korean Number Incoming Call Forwarding"). The Forwarding Function can be turned ON/OFF (default is OFF). However, if you use the Forwarding Function for Korean Number Incoming Call Forwarding, incoming call charges will apply each time a call is forwarded. Furthermore, if you are in a country other than Japan, incoming call charges for WORLD WING (incoming call charges from Japan to your country of stay) will apply in addition to incoming call charges from South Korea to Japan because the calls will also be forwarded from Japan to your country of stay.
  • Incoming call charges for Korean Number Incoming Call Forwarding also apply to the calculation made with regards to the monthly limit set as an indication for suspending the use of WORLD WING. However, while you are in Japan, even if the cumulative monthly charges exceed the monthly limit for suspending use as a result of accumulated incoming call charges for Korean Number Incoming Call Forwarding use of WORLD WING is not suspended and Korean Number Incoming Call Forwarding is not deactivated.
    If you travel overseas in the same month and the cumulative monthly charges is close to exceeding or has exceeded the monthly limit for suspending use of WORLD WING, use of WORLD WING may be suspended. To find out the state of the cumulative monthly charges, inquire at a nearby docomo Shop or docomo Information Center.
