DOCOMO mobile phones use radio communications and cannot be used in tunnels, underground areas, buildings, etc. without reception; in outdoor locations with weak reception; or outside the service area. Reception on even some unobstructed upper floors of high-rise buildings and apartments may be weak. Please be aware that calls or communications may be disconnected even under optimal conditions when reception is strong and all three antenna marks are displayed, and when in stationary position. Connection may be difficult due to line congestion on New Year’s Day, at times of disaster, and at events such as firework festivals.- In the case of mova, data communications services are not available in the Tokyo Ogasawara area; only voice communications are available. mova data communications services are also not available in Kita Daito and Minami Daito in Okinawa Prefecture, but packet communications (i-mode and DoPa) is available. At present FOMA is not available.
- Service is also available in off-shore zones adjacent to land-based service areas.
