Procedures when switching from DOCOMO to another carrier with MNP

Step 1
First, contact your nearest docomo Shop or Information Center, apply for an MNP reservation, and receive an MNP reservation number.

An application can be made from a PC.
When accessing from a PC, a docomo ID and password are required.
For issuing docomo ID and password, a network PIN is required.
1 May not be accessible from some IP phones.
2 Communications charges do not apply for calls to numbers starting with 0120.
3 Cannot be called from landline phones.
The following subscribers cannot apply from a PC. Make the application at the docomo Information Center or your nearest docomo Shop.
- Those subscribed to a representative number for single billing/single delivery service
- Those using the main phone line who are subscribed to Family Discount with three or more lines
Step 2
Notify the new carrier of your MNP reservation number and apply for a new mobile phone subscription with MNP.
Charges
A handling fee of ¥2,100 applies for Mobile Number Portability.
Notes on use
When using MNP to transfer your number, you are ending (cancelling) your subscription with your current carrier and starting a new subscription with the new carrier. Because of this, you should be aware of the following points:
Your length of use with the subscription will be reset to zero.
Your mail address will change.
All points you received from your old mobile phone carrier will be forfeited.
If you are subscribed to discounts based on the length of use (such as New Ichinen Discount from DOCOMO), cancellation charges may apply.
Downloaded content and electronic money may not be transferred.
You will not be able to use your current mobile phone after switching. You will need a new mobile phone compatible with you new carrier.
You cannot make MNP procedures if you use services such as mobile satellite phone or data-communications-only services.
Amounts listed include consumption tax. Please note that for the actual bill the amount of the tax is calculated from the total of individual items excluding tax so the billing amount may differ from the total of individual items including tax.
