You must bring your current mova phone to a docomo Shop or other retailer to change phones or cancel your subscription. At the shop, your telephone number will be deleted from your current mova phone. If you have a rental phone, please return the phone to a docomo Shop.

You are required to enter your network PIN, provide documents verifying identity, show the
(Phone purchase confirmation site [your network PIN must be entered]) (in Japanese only) on your current mobile phone, etc., so we can confirm your identity.
At docomo Shops, the
(Phone purchase confirmation site) cannot be used to confirm your identity. Also, at DOCOMO dealers other than docomo Shops, confirmation by entering your network PIN cannot be made.
If a representative applies on behalf of an organization or other individual (application by proxy), the representative may need to present proof of identity, etc. If the official identification of the person who applies is a Japanese Health Insurance Certificate, a utility receipt, credit card, student ID, Certificate of Residence (Juminhyo), or Certificate of Registered Matters on Alien Registration does not need to be attached.

A handling fee will be included on your bill the following month. - Payment for phone and accessories, etc. (Necessary for the cost of the new purchase.)

Procedures can be carried out at docomo Shops.
Notes on procedures
- When changing mobile phone models, please purchase a new battery, battery charger, and other accessories if your current ones are not compatible with the new model.
- Please note that NTT DOCOMO will not provide discounts for trade-in of old phones or accessories.
- Refer to docomo Points Service to learn how you can use points that are earned when paying your monthly DOCOMO bill in full.
- If you are using a car antenna, you will need to exchange your phone adapter. Rental antennas should be either returned or purchased.
- Please restore modified (components changed, etc.) mova phones brought to a docomo Shop for a phone model change to their original state as supplied by DOCOMO.
- When changing mobile phone models, some function settings and data such as accumulated communications charges may be lost. If this occurs, please make settings again.
- At the time of model change, the docomo Shop can copy the following from your current DOCOMO phone to your new phone: the first telephone number, name in kana and kanji, group settings, the first mail address, and secret code settings in Phonebook entries, as well as bookmarks. If your previous phone model was not a DOCOMO phone, the shop can copy the first telephone number, name in kana and kanji, and the first mail address in Phonebook entries. However, please note that some data may not be copied depending on the phone model specifications.
- Data such as phone numbers and mail addresses can be backed up through docomo Welcome Support.
Amounts listed include consumption tax. Please note that for the actual bill the amount of the tax is calculated from the total of individual items excluding tax so the billing amount may differ from the total of individual items including tax.
