Details of improvements

This update fixes the following issue:

  • The vibrator may continue to operate on its own, and the handset may restart.
  • A message stating that an alpha error occurred () may display and the application may fail to launch after downloading or upgrading an i-αppli in an environment with poor reception.
  • If the phone is left open, the screen may shake (flicker) momentarily.
  • When attempting to confirm your current location (GPS positioning) with features such as GPS-compatible i-αppli, positioning may not be possible under certain conditions. A message indicating that confirmation of your current location failed will be displayed in that case.

    noticeEven after the software update is performed, a message indicating that confirmation of your current location failed may still be displayed when satellite signals cannot be correctly received. This is a normal occurrence.

  • noticeIn addition to solving the issue above, updates also includes other enhancements to make better use of your mobile phone.
  • noticeAll issues to date will be fixed by performing the latest software update.

How to Update your Software

New software is automatically downloaded and overwrites the existing software at a preset time (default time is 3 a.m.).
Updates can also be made as desired by performing the operation below and following the instructions on the screen.
In standby, press the "MENU" button then select "8. Settings & NW services" → "7. Other" → "5. Software update".

Notes

  • Please make sure that the mobile phone battery is fully charged when performing software updates.
  • Also note that you should never remove the battery pack while updating software, as it will cause the phone to malfunction.
  • Software cannot be updated in the following cases:
    • noticeWhen the phone’s time and date are not set
    • noticeDuring calls
    • noticeDuring communications, etc.
  • Other functions are not available while software is being updated, though voice calls can be answered while downloading.
