Notes on software updates

  • Update the software at your own risk.
  • Read the update procedure carefully before you perform the software update.
  • Updates of the software can be done while keeping Phonebook entries, camera images, downloaded data, and other data saved on the T-01A handset intact. However, please note that in some cases data cannot be protected depending on the condition of your mobile phone (malfunction, damage, water exposure, etc.). Make sure that you back up any important data.
  • Before performing the software update, ensure that the space required for the installation is available on the T-01A handset.
  • Perform the installation when the T-01A handset has a sufficient amount of battery power remaining (fully charged).
  • Before performing the installation, end all programs that are running on the T-01A handset.
    • notice[How to end all programs]

  • Do not under any circumstances turn off the power or remove the battery pack of the T-01A handset during the installation. Doing so may result in a malfunction.
  • All functions including incoming and outgoing calls are not available during the installation.
  • If, for example, the installation fails and the handset becomes completely inoperable, contact a repair counter designated by DOCOMO.
  • After the installation is finished, the International Mobile Equipment Identity of your T-01A handset is sent automatically to the server to notify that the software update has been completed. Please note that communications charges may apply depending on the terms of your contract and the services you use. Furthermore, please note that a software update notification will be sent if a master clear is performed. DOCOMO will not use the sent information for any purpose other than software updates.
