This is a notice related to a product update of Optimus chat L-04C. Be sure to update the product to the latest version because it contains not only additional functions but also improvements in quality.

The time required to update the software may differ depending on the network environment.

• In some regions overseas, communications may occasionally not work properly.
• If a microSDXC card is inserted, the data in the card may become corrupted.

In addition to solving the issues above, the update also includes other enhancements to make better use of your mobile phone and some specification and display changes.

• A microSDXC card cannot be used even if you install this software update.

• Use a PC to download the software update program from the maker's download site. A PC running a Windows® OS (Windows® XP, Windows Vista®, or Windows® 7) is required to use the procedure to update the software via a PC connection.

• Connect the device and PC with a USB cable and then run the downloaded software update program.

The Optimus chat (L-04C) driver, which can be obtained from the maker's download site, needs to be installed.

Check the software version of your mobile phone (handset) and update the software if it is not the latest version.

• Update the software at your own risk.
• Please make sure that the mobile phone battery is fully charged when performing software updates.
• Do not operate the buttons on the smartphone, disconnect the USB cable, or remove the battery pack during the software update because doing so may cause a malfunction or the update to fail.
• The software can be updated while keeping the data stored on the FOMA device intact but data may not be able to be saved depending on the condition of your FOMA device. We recommend backing up user information and data in the FOMA device just in case there is trouble. However, please note that some data cannot be backed up.
• Other functions are not available while the software is being updated.
• If the handset becomes completely inoperable for reasons such as failed update, please consult with a repair counter designated by DOCOMO.
