TOKYO, JAPAN, February 1, 2005 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that it concluded a public wireless LAN inter-roaming agreement with leading mobile operator, TeliaSonera AB (TeliaSonera) of Sweden. Starting on February 9, 2005, DoCoMo's Public Wireless LAN Service subscribers will be able to use the LAN services of TeliaSonera, in addition to similar services currently available in more than 30 other countries.
The customers of the operator will be able to access DoCoMo's Public Wireless LAN Service points in Japan. These are DoCoMo's first WLAN inter-roaming agreements.
DoCoMo's Public Wireless LAN Service subscribers will be charged roaming fees of 40 yen per minute for TeliaSonera, in addition to the regular basic fee for DoCoMo's Public Wireless LAN Service.
