TOKYO, JAPAN, December 9, 2004 --- NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that it will launch a third U.S. Advisory Board, which will have its first meeting in the United States on December 15, 2004. The second Advisory Board, established in November 2002, completed its mission in June 2004.
The board members will be (chairperson) Dr. Fred Bergsten, founder and director of the Institute for International Economics, J. Gregory Sidak, resident scholar of the America Enterprise Institute, and Raymond W. Smith, founding partner of Arlington Capital Partners. These members also served on the previous board.
The board will meet with DoCoMo representatives twice a year in the United States.
DoCoMo plans to invite special guests to each meeting. Andres J. Cole, vice president & wireless practice leader of AT Kearney, Inc, will be the guest at the first meeting.
The aim is to provide DoCoMo with advice and insight on social and economic circumstances related to the company's management policies, corporate governance, compliance and corporate communications, as well as the development and provision of high-quality services in touch with society and business.
