NTT DOCOMO Establishes Sixth U.S. Advisory Board

TOKYO, JAPAN, October 3, 2011 --- NTT DOCOMO, INC. announced today that it has established its sixth U.S. Advisory Board and will convene the first meeting in the United States on October 6.

The new board is chaired by former Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) chairman Tom Wheeler, currently a managing director of Core Capital Partners. Also on the board is Michael Katz, Ph.D., formerly chief economist at the Federal Communications Commission and currently a professor in the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

The two-year board will meet with DOCOMO representatives twice each year in the United States. DOCOMO will invite one or two special guests to each meeting, beginning with Professor Pankaj Ghemawat from the IESE Business School in Barcelona.

DOCOMO’s U.S. Advisory Board provides insight into global society and economics as related to the company’s management, corporate citizenship and provision of high-quality mobile services. The first board was established in December 2000 and the fifth board lasted from April 2009 to March 2011.
