Response to series of network malfunctions

NTT DOCOMO extends its deepest apologies for inconveniencing many customers as a result of the series of sp-mode and network malfunctions reported in or after June 2011.

To prevent reoccurrence of these events, in late December 2011, the Company established a Task Force for Improvement of Network Infrastructure to determine the causes of events that have occurred in line with the rapid increase in the number of smartphone users, so that immediate countermeasures can be developed and implemented without delay. The Task Force also leads company-wide, cross-sectional studies on methods for stabilizing network operations, future enhancement of processing capabilities and other issues, toward the construction of network infrastructure capable of accommodating 50.00 million smartphones by implementing drastic measures for reliability improvement (see Attachment 1).

NTT DOCOMO will exert all-out efforts to build a reliable network that allows customers to use our services free of concerns.
