NTT DOCOMO to Reduce Interconnection Fees

TOKYO, JAPAN, February 25, 2010 --- NTT DOCOMO, INC. announced today that it has notified the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications that the fees it charges other telecommunications operators to interconnect with its network have been reduced, effective from March 4, 2010 and applied retroactively to all interconnections since April 1, 2009.

The revised fees are as follow:
Call area New per-second fee
(As of fiscal 2009)
Previous per-second fee
(Through fiscal 2008)
Within same service area *1 0.135 yen (15.6% reduction) 0.160 yen
Between different service areas *2 0.156 yen (13.3% reduction) 0.180 yen
*1 Point of interface and call-receiver are in same DOCOMO service area.
*2 Point of interface and call-receiver are not in same DOCOMO service area.
