[updated August 14]International Roaming Service Problems Solved

NTT DoCoMo announced that problems with voice and packet communications, including i-mode, under the World Wing international roaming service have been resolved as of 11:49 p.m. (Japan standard time), August 9, 2006.

The company confirmed the problems started as of 7:06 p.m. on August 7, 2006 and affected 56 areas, including the U.S., Canada, South Korea and Italy. In Japan as well, some customers of DoCoMo’s roaming partners experienced the same problems.

About 34,000 World Wing users in the 56 areas may have been affected.

DoCoMo is still investigating the problem, which appears to have been caused by congestion in international access networks.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

For inquiries, please contact the DoCoMo Information Center from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. (Japan standard time). The toll free number for landline phones is 0120-005-250.
